Well, here we are, quickly approaching the holidays and those last minute curriculum "have to get this in before the holidays" crunch!! Our class of 5th graders are currently learning all about pre-Columbian civilizations-the Maya, Aztec, and Inca. I am hoping to have this unit finished in the next 3 weeks!! We will be moving onto the early explorers next. For some reason, I am a bit behind this year but other teachers are in the same place, I can well-guess! We have been writing, writing, writing in our ELA classes. Everything from personal narratives to free writes in our journals to parts of speech and our weekly Mugshots! It is a busy time of year but well-worth the efforts!
